Self Care

Self-care is about keeping fit and healthy, understanding when you can look after yourself, when a pharmacist can help, and when to get advice from your GP or another health professional.

There are many conditions that you can easily treat yourself at home or with the advice from a local pharmacist. Using your pharmacist in that way can sometimes help you to feel better sooner and avoid unnecessary trips to your GP or A&E department.

There are some medicines that are unlikely to be prescribed by the GP Practice to adults and children as they can be purchased from your pharmacy. The items and the reasons for this are shown on the information poster below.
